Fun, Delicious, Fulfilling...

that's what Thanksgiving was for us!! Di & John started the day making our traditional homemade biscuits and sausage gravy for breakfast! Talk about YUMMY!

In the early afternoon we visited John's family in Perth, NY for some cocktails and great hors d'oeuvres prepared by Theresa's friend, Maryann! Delicious to say the least!

Thank you to Theresa, Ron & Sean for their hospitality!!

When we returned to our home, the dinner was on!! We had Roasted Rock Cornish Hen, Baked Ham, Sweet Potato Crunch, Green Bean Casserole, Fresh Cranberry Sauce, Rosemary-Garlic Roasted Red Potatoes, Oyster Casserole,Homemade Braided Bread, and Salad! All incredible!!

The recipe we got from our friend Alice for the Chocolate Mocha Cheesecake turned out great! It's so rich! But we loved it!

Hope you had a yummy, fun Thanksgiving as well!

RECIPE.....

For over 10 years, we have made Braided Bread together for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas! This year, for Thanksgiving, Nadia decided she wanted to add garlic and rosemary! MAN! It smells wonderful while it's baking!! We'll let you know how it tastes some time after we eat it on the 27th! Here's how to make it....

Poor Nadia

Nadia is bogged down with exams, projects, college applications and senior-itis. Her Participation in Government class assignment is to do a community service project. Nadia plans on attending medical school after she receives her BA in Biology. So, she chose to base her community service on health. Nadia and Diane did the Cancer Walk in Albany last month and had lots of fun!

Then, tonight, Nadia donated blood for the first time to the Red Cross. Usually a cut and dry process...not for these 2! Diane had a list of errands a mile long to accomplish before 5:00. We arrived at the Community Center at 3:00...check in was PAINLESS and quick. Then the needle issue began!!! JEEEZZZZ....her vein looked good, but the apprentice didn't get the needle in correctly! The supervisor came over and about 10 minutes later had Nadia bleeding. She had a good steady flow and then just as she was almost done, she started clotting! More moving the needle!! Poor thing...she was so still and patient! I wanted to scream for her! The supervisor announced, "you are done for today, Nadia." Her vein was obnoxiously swollen by the time they were done at 4:30! And boy, was she sore! Then they told Nadia that they weren't sure if they got enough to use her donation! Nadia was miffed! Then a volunteer gave her fudge and peanut butter covered cookies...that really made her smile...you know how Nadia loves her CHOCOLATE!!! After 1.5 hours of enduring all that pain, we just went home and had some comforting soup and grilled cheese. Nadia is exhausted...went to bed at 7:30! The pictures alone should get her extra credit!!!

Another FUN corp. shoot

Have you heard of Kateri? She was a Mohawk Indian born in what is now Auriesville, NY, 1656. She was baptized and dedicated her life to the ministry of Jesus. She died at the age of 24. The Catholic Church is in the process of cannonizing her a saint. Well, the Kateri Shrine near our home, hired us to capture the soliloquy performed by a beautiful, young, talented woman, Maggie. We had fun learning some history and shooting the performance today! Thanks to Father Bob and Lily for all your help and your invitation in capturing the story.
