Chinese New Year!

You all know how much we like to celebrate!

So, we couldn't resist, cooking a few Chinese dishes, decorating the table and toasting the Year of the Ox, Ji Chou! The Ox is a symbol of wealth and success through hard work and resilience! We hope 2009 is all that and more for you!!

FUN SATURDAY!

Nadia and Diane went shopping with Donna and Krystyna for prom dresses in the bitter cold. We didn't make any final decisions, but each girl found a nice dress! John made his yummy gourmet pizza's and Andrew and Scott met us at the house! Then cousin Russ came in from Ohio! Pizza and cocktails and a great time! Our faces still hurt from laughing!

Nick gets nervous sometimes when he spends the night with us becaue we make him try new foods! He used to be a picky eatter, but now loves dishes like guacamole and even learned to make it tonight!

Well done, Nick!

We had one of his favorite meals tonight, TACOS, because next month he is moving to Florida! We will miss him! He definitely makes us laugh

and he and Antonio have had a lot of fun doing things together!

Acceptance letter arrived!

Today's interview with HARVARD went great! Her interviewer told her she would be a great doctor! Nadia feels impowered! She knows what to expect next Thursday with BROWN! And...NYU emailed her today! She's got a 3rd interview on it's way!!!

College Update

Today, Nadia received an email from BROWN!! Her interview will be next week!

She is confirmed for Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009 for her Harvard interview!!!

So, Nadia graduates this June from High School and has been very busy and diligent in her application process! She applied to 12 colleges! We are posting her progress in the hopes that you all will pray for her!

The first response came in this week!! Nadia has made the first cut for HARVARD!!!!!! Of course, Mom is VERY proud! Her interview is in the process of being scheduled! Please keep her in your prayers!

More Eatting!!!

Anita cooked today! What a delicious feast! She made pasta and sauce, country style ribs in sauce, meatballs and italian sausge, and a salad! We enjoyed her holiday cookies for dessert and a triple layered carrott cake that Nadia made. YUM!!! Thank you so much! We loved everything! And the conversation was fantastic and the jokes were great! John, Sean and Antonio did some computer work! Theresa and Nadia had a mini 4-H meeting. Ron definitely enjoyed the cake!

Winter update

We still have snow....lots of snow!! And it's freezing cold. But we are happy and working on healthy!

So far this year, we had dinner with Theresa, Ron, Sean, Maryann and Anita! Yummy Shells and Delicious Chicken Cacciatore, Theresa!!! Thank you!

Of course, we have been trying new recipes too!! What a delicious year so far!

We of course, ended 2008 doing something we all love to do!! CREATE in the KITCHEN!!

We whipped up some delectable dishes to munch on at home alone. Diane has been very sick and the weather has been extremely cold...so we decided it was best to stay at the Compound! We were bummed we couldn't partake in the invitations we had to celebrate with the Craigs and the Scofields! Thank you for the invites!



After exchanging kisses with Nadia, Antonio and my SWEETHEART.....I received a Happy New Year call from my sister, Denise in Florida! She made my night! Thank you, Fred!! Then I watched my crazy kids with sparklers on the front porch in 1 degree weather!!!
